Welcome to My Website
I’m Daniel Langford — an architectural designer by profession and an artist by passion.
Born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, and now based in Chicago, Illinois, I split my time between designing spaces that serve communities and creating artwork that captures memory through architecture and sculpture.
Whether you're here to learn more about my design work or to explore the fine-line drawings I create outside of the studio, I'm glad you're here.

My passion lies in leveraging architecture as a powerful tool for positive change. By integrating my architectural stances into the world around me, I aim to create environments that foster social progress and uplift communities. Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have devoted myself to researching and addressing crucial societal issues.
My research focuses on three critical areas: Homelessness, Affordable Housing, and Community Development. I believe that everyone deserves a safe and dignified place to call home, and my research endeavors to explore innovative solutions to these pressing challenges. By researching into the complexities of homelessness, I aim to design sustainable and inclusive, options that uplift individuals and communities alike. Moreover, I am passionate about preserving our rich architectural heritage and ensuring its integration into contemporary contexts, fostering a sense of identity, continuity, and cultural appreciation.

Art has always been my way of holding onto places and moments.
I create pen and ink drawings of buildings and classical sculptures — each piece a reflection of how architecture shapes memory. As someone who was moving around often, I’ve learned that while I can’t always take a place with me, I can carry a drawing of it. That drawing becomes a touchstone — a quiet reminder of where I’ve been and what I’ve felt.
My work centers on two subjects:
The places I’ve visited and the statues that have inspired me.
They are both about form, detail, and permanence — the two things built to last.
Drawing is a slow, meditative process for me. Each line is considered. Each shadow is intentional. It’s my way of honoring the craft of those who came before us — architects, sculptors, and artisans — while creating something new that fits into the lives of others.
These pieces are made to travel. Whether it’s a print for your first apartment or a custom piece that captures a city you love, my goal is to create art that lives with you — and grows with you.
